ARPFTC (in partnership with a NPS-RTCA Technical Assistance Grant) is a project
Collecting data identifying and mapping (ADA/ABA compliant) Accessible Infrastructure & Opportunities
(locations, facilities, programs, and features),
Assisting People With Disabilities (PWDS) discover existing Accessible features within our communities,
Improving quality of life, Building more sustainable and livable communities, and
Enabling people of all ages to more easily recreate and enjoy outdoor spaces
ARPFTC brings together prior AOTG projects and works to:
Identify
1. Existing Accessible Features (to be promoted)
2. Existing Readily Removable Barriers to Access (to be improved)
3. Future Improvement Opportunities (potential areas to build additional Accessible Infrastructure/services)
Distribute
Accessibility Improvement Tool Kits & Technology assisting volunteers and partners:
1. Inventory Accessible infrastructure and Not-yet-Accessible Barriers to Access
2. Advocate & Provide free resources assisting future partners (businesses, government, orgs, etc.)
to make Necessary Improvements
Scale
Recruit / Train additional Volunteers / Partners to grow project to Scale
