Canaan Valley State Park

In partnership with Canaan Valley State Park Foundation, Access On The Go conducted a comprehensive trail assessment and provided WVDNR/CVSP a trail maintenance plan recommending ten minor improvements required to make CVSP's trails welcoming adaptive recreation options for park users with disabilities

During 2022 and 2023, Access On The Go evaluated trails within Canaan Valley Resort and State Park (CVSP) and provided the Friends of Canaan Valley State Park Foundation and WVDNR/CVSP an 'Accessible & Adaptive Friendly Trails Improvement Opportunities' Trail Maintenance Report demonstrating how ten, mostly minor improvements (e.g. widening trailhead gate tread-widths to 42" etc) would make 85% of the CVSP trail system friendly for adaptive mountain bike (aMTB) and modern all-terrain mobility equipment enabled park users with disabilities
